Since 1972, Tom Phillips has been active in the supermarket development and commercial refrigeration field with an emphasis on supermarkets, convenience stores, delicatessens, and restaurants, as well as various processing facilities and central kitchens. His main responsibilities included store planning, mechanical drawings, interior design, estimating/budgeting, purchasing, and project management.
In 2005, Tom left the corporate world to pursue his own endeavors. Soon after, he was joined by his wife, Cheryl, who brings a commercial insurance background of more than 15 years as well as her accounting expertise and superior office organization skills. Together, they formally formed Phillips Enterprises, Inc. to focus exclusively on using Tom’s talents to create the superior shopping experience. In just a year, the growing demand for their work led to his son, Dan, joining the firm as a project manager. Dan, who holds a bachelor's degree in operations management, is no stranger to the grocery community. After graduating in 2003, he handled equipment receiving, installation and project management duties, followed by two years in the residential real estate field expanding his expertise.
Summer 2006 brought another addition as Tim, Tom's youngest son, was brought on as the company’s full-time CAD draftsman. Tim brings a B.S. from Colorado State University and provides elite computer drafting skills as well as 3D department renderings, which has streamlined our design communications.
Our most recent addition is Chris, Tom’s second son, who will institute 15+ years of grocery construction experience. With his help, our company can now offer equipment receiving & installation, as well as a misting system engineering/maintenance program. This company extension allows us to deliver our clients a more complete package for putting together a grocery store with someone who can help with their miscellaneous everyday needs.
